According to UNEP experts, human behavior has had a heavy impact on the oceans, water, biodiversity, atmosphere, land, and soil, as well as on human health. Our Mother Earth is clearly crying out for help. To help reduce this impact, in my small way, I start in the morning while brushing my teeth. And you?
Many people interested in the environment and sustainability have probably seen the Netflix documentary “Seaspiracy" which came out a few weeks ago. I don't know about you, but this documentary makes me feel so powerless that my daily efforts seem useless. We need a radical change. In my opinion educate People opening their eyes is already a first step towards it change I thought everyone knew about the environmental problems that we human beings have caused to ourselves. Of the oil problem, of the water , of the glacier meltingof theextinction of animal species, of the ocean , of the plastic and so on. But it is not like that.
And this is why events like Earth Day are so important. April 22 marks Earth Day “Earth Day”, created in 1970 with the goal of promoting the conservation of our planet's natural resources. Starting from the principle that every human being has the right to living in a healthy and sustainable environment , since 1970 to today on this day events have been organized to raise awareness among the world's citizens about climate change and of the human impact on our planet . According to experts from theUNEP , human behavior has had a heavy impact on the oceans, water, biodiversity, atmosphere, land and soil, but also on human health. Our Mother Earth is clearly crying out for help. The nature is suffering. Devastating fires in Australia, record temperatures, the melting of glaciers and ice caps, and catastrophic weather events. And now we are facing a global health pandemic, COVID-19.
It's time to reverse the trend. And this starts with the daily choices in our homes, in our cities, and in our towns.
I start in the morning while I brush my teeth. And you?
